But are you counting the time taken to swirl? Or just post swirl drinking? I reckon the swirl now takes 2 turns.

If you do that, the time you save drinking it is wasted swirling into a vortex, though, so… you know, pick your poison.

Try a container that doesn't have s very thin neck. From my understanding the entire turn is 6 seconds. So if you drink 4oz in 6 seconds that is your action, bonus action, and movement.(ok, maybe not movement) It took you 9 seconds. That is one full turn and your action for the next turn.... I am sure that a different shaped 4 oz vial would help speed things up. Even if you don't get down to the 1-2 seconds of a bonus action.

Potions are usually only an ounce. Dmg says this once. But its there.

How is halberd is so low? I literally use it every time i want a 2 handed weapon. It looks absolutley beautiful and you get that reach!

Well. This is going in my setting's lore. New adventurers practicing the technique in taverns or guild halls. Veterans showing off either their finesse at doing it, or their custom glassware. Crafters working on better bottles, quickdraw belts and pouches, or even concentrated versions of the potions. Love it

It just means that healing potions are small and the portions are smaller.

Now you have to account for the time spent swirling the potion though.

I play with my family (and I’ve only ever played in that vibe) so the idea of bullying the dm that much is insane like that’s my dad

I prefer the dryed healing potions/ healing pill magic items they're canon in a few sources mad mages dungeon being one of them most of the time they are only minor have more varietys

But now you gotta account for the time of the swirl, so that could be longer than a round of combat still :P

Id like to add my piece in for rule 7. I used to play with active fog of war with visibility. I always recommended that the players move in 5ft increments to allow the FoW catch up so they could see what was coming up. And would even remind them if i knew there would be potential for interaction within their expected movement. However, as players came around a corner, having picked up their mini and moved their full movement, only to then get upset that they were not able to target the target they wanted to due to range and would have suffered an AoO from an enemy they couldnt see before they moved. And because they had such low AC only a Nat 1 from that enemy could have missed and they had less than 10 health. And by upset i mean negative personal attacks towards me, the GM, while raising their voice in anger. I said, "listen, i literally just warned you to take 5ft increments and you didnt. Ill let you stop when you would have been able to see the enemy that would give you the AoO and change your movement and plans." To which they continued ranting about how they should get a full redo because they wouldnt have moved there if they knew they wouldnt be within range of their spell on their target. This argument went nowhere fast and i relented stating, fine, have your redo but you only get this one. Next time it will be where your mini is placed like in chess. And you have to make your new move without any of the knowledge of what your character just saw, which was previously unknown to all players. They chose to manuever in a way to then cast fireball on the enemy that would have given them the AoO. To which i said No. Your character doesnt know they are there. They then asked to undo half of the new movement to Fireball a different group but they tried to cheese it so the edge would still catch the "unknown" enemy. I said. Are you certain this is the spot your character picks for your spell? Are you certain this is where you are moving? And you are casting fireball, right here, and standing right here, knowing it will also hit at least one ally? They angrily state yes through clenched jaw. I say okay, no more takesiesbacksies. We will now resolve your turn. Roll damage Also, you need to give me a dex save because you are also in your spells radius. To which they slammed the table and demanded another redo because they wouldnt have cast their spell with them in its radius with such little health. And this is why i too implemented a hard rule of "you may ask for a redo, but if i say no its where you put your piece, then thats final or the session is over on the spot." Just like this guys rule 7

These just read like a DM that had been hurt too many times.

That level of focus in a combat round should mean people can hit you with advantage.
